Hemkund Sahib and Govindham

Day3

We rested in a budget hotel last night and got up early next morning . Took a nice hot bath. A bucket of hot water cost Rs 30 .We got ready and had our breakfast . Now , one of the things that one must know, that every edible item is priced 3 times and nobody's complaining. The simple logic being the height and no transportation system except for the mules , which you can spot everywhere . The population of mules would be roughly 1/3 of humans in the town . We carried 5litres water and bread/jam in a bag (no polythenes allowed in the world heritage site ).There is no food and fresh water available in valley .As we move up from ghangariya, the path bifurcates; it’s 3 km towards the valley and 6 km on the other to Hemkund Sahib. and for every thousand people going towards hemkund ,one goes to the valley. As luck would have it ,we were the only one to go towards the valley that day. It was raining badly and we had an inkling it might, so we carried makeshift raincoats . (costing 30Rs each)

As we kept walking there was a subtle change from the rockey mountians / treacherous bridges What i saw later can't possibly be described in words Today was the day . we were in valley of flowers . Not yet ,but almost .We still have to walk another 3 kilometres. but in the end, all the effort was every bit, worth itBelow are few breathtaking photographs that ,I took . Words can't possibly describe them. No camera , no matter how sophisticated it is , can do justice to the beauty of the place.
